  HOW TO JOIN THE CLUB

FIREARM CERTIFICATE HOLDERS & PROSPECTIVE JOINEES FROM OTHER CLUBS

If you are already a Firearm Certificate holder and/or a full member of another Club and wish to join, you may be excused all or part of the probationary period. Please use the contact telephone number 01424 465506 and leave a message for the Club Secretary.

NEW TO SHOOTING

If you wish to join our Club please telephone 01424 465506 and leave a message, giving your name, address, date of birth and contact telephone number. The Club Secretary will then contact you, check your information and invite you to attend one of the Club’s shooting sessions to have a look around. If you are interested in joining, your next step is to book one of our safety courses, via the Secretary, which are held on most Saturdays, commencing 2 p.m. The cost of this training session is currently £20, which includes the cost of ammunition and the use of Club firearms.

Please note that any prospective new Junior member, who is not a relative of a full member of the Club, must be over the age of 13.  Any Junior member below the age of 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult who holds a Firearms' Certificate.

Once you have attended a safety course you will be free to attend any of our regular sessions as a probationary member of the Club.

SUBSEQUENT VISITS

For each of your next three attendances, as a probationary member, you will be required to pay the daily range fee, which is currently £5 (£2.50 for under 18s).

You will be expected to purchase ammunition for your own use, which must be stored at the Club (unless you have a Firearm Certificate permitting your possession). Club .22 ammunition currently costs £2 for a box of 50.

After these three visits you will be required to pay the membership fee to continue attending. The current membership fee is £115 per annum, payable in January.
There is also a joining fee of £10 to cover administration costs. There are reductions on this fee depending in which month of the year you join and concessions for Junior, Family and OAP members. The annual membership fee is reviewed, each year, at the Club AGM.

You then continue to be a Probationary Member for three months, at the end of which time the Club Committee will consider your eligibility for continued full membership.

Probationary members will be given training in safe firearms handling and will be expected to show that they understand our safety procedures and are skilled enough to safely clear blockages and misfires in all types of firearms.
